A skunk in Walker County has tested positive for rabies… and public health officials are urging residents to make sure their pets are vaccinated. This is the first confirmed animal rabies case in Walker County for 2021 and the first since 2014. While confirmed cases are relatively rare, officials emphasize animal rabies can be found throughout Walker County… as it is always circulating in the wild animal population.
