The long-awaited paving of North Main Street is about to begin, according to a release from the City of LaFayette. Paving was postponed last fall, as new sidewalks were added to the contract.
According to the Georgia DOT, the paving contractor is being mobilized to begin milling and resurfacing the street. The work will involve some lane closures. The project, including relocation of under-street utilities, has been underway for about two years.
The City extended thanks to State Senator Jeff Mullis and GDOT for their support with the project… and asked the public for patience while the paving work is completed.
