On Saturday, Chattooga County Sheriff Deputies responded to a call in reference to a burglary on Highway 114 at Bishop’s Trailer Park.
Arriving at the home, Deputies spoke with Rufus Hickman, who advised that when he came home his back door was unlocked and Hickman stated that he always kept his doors locked. Hickman told Deputies that 2 envelopes in his nightstand, containing $300 and $200 are now missing.
Deputies spoke with two other males at the home who advised that around 10 that morning they had seen a male subject behind Hickmans trailer, but did not get a good look at him. The men also told Deputies that a neighbor next door and their have been issues in the past with the neighbor stealing items from around the trailer park. It raised red flags with the complainant that the neighbor, who supposedly had no source of income was able to purchase a smoker and was telling the men that a trailer would be bought next.
This case is still active.
