Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle on 27 Bypass, LaFayette

LaFayette Police investigated an accident involving a pedestrian hit by a vehicle Friday evening, on the 27 Bypass at East Villanow.  LaFayette Fire personnel were administering aid to the person in the roadway, when Police arrived.  Officers determined the impact happened in the Northbound lane of the Bypass… during dark and rainy conditions.
The man hit in the crosswalk was identified as James Vaughn.  He suffered head injuries along with a possible broken leg and arm… and was transported to Erlanger.  Officers at the scene said Vaughn had an odor of alcohol on his breath.
The driver of the vehicle had the green light, according to witness accounts, and could not see Vaughn.  The driver and a passenger said at first, they thought they had hit a deer.
The pedestrian, Mr. Vaughn, was determined to be at fault in the accident, according to the Police report.
