Arrest Made In Connection With Bomb Threats at Walmart

The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with recent bomb threats at the Trion Walmart.
Threatening notes were found January 29th and February 5th in a women’s restroom.  Both threats resulted in the store being evacuated and searched by first responders and management staff of the store.
23 year old Melanie Ann Cornett of a Trion address was charged this week with 2 counts each of terroristic threats and acts and false report of a crime and 1 count of false statements and writings.
Cornett was an employee of the store when the threatening notes were found, according to Chattooga Sheriff Mark Schrader.
