The Roper range and oven plant in LaFayette plans to hire up to 150 more people to meet surging demand.
“We’ve definitely seen significant sales volumes,” said Plant Manager Lois Crandall, “We have double-digit increases right now.”
She told the Times Free Press that the plant already has over 2,100 employees after hiring grew in 2020.
The pandemic, which has kept a lot of people at home, is what heated up demand, Crandall said. “People aren’t spending money on big vacations. They’re not taking trips, they have extra cash and want to rebuild their kitchens.”
