LaFayette Police arrested a Catoosa County man on DUI and reckless driving charges, following a high-speed chase through city streets, Saturday. The report states that officers received a “be on the lookout” alert on a Chevy pickup with possible DUI driver, in LaFayette. The truck passed an officer who followed, observing several traffic violations in the process. The police car was doing over 65 miles per hour at one point, without gaining on the truck.
The driver pulled over at a residence on Henderson Street, and officers noted the smell of alcohol. They found open drinks and a loaded pistol inside the vehicle.
A check revealed that 33 year old Bradley Aaron Jones had prior felony convictions and was not supposed to have a gun in his possession.
He was charged with DUI, reckless driving and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
