The countdown to the Georgia Senate Runoff Election is on and the stakes are high. Incumbent Republican Senator David Perdue is neck-in-neck in most polls with Democrat John Ossoff.
Perdue had the advantage in November, earning about 88,000 more votes than Ossoff. However, he fell 0.3 points shy of the 50 percent threshold needed to win an election in Georgia, resulting in the upcoming January 5 runoff that will help decide the fate of the Senate. And at this point in the race, it’s anyone’s seat to win.
Senator Perdue is scheduled to make a visit to Chattooga County tomorrow. According to local Republicans, Perdue will be a the Chattooga County Civic Center on Highway 48 in Summerville at 12:30 Wednesday afternoon.
Early voting ends Thursday and Election Day is Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
