Calhoun Police Looking for Men Who Brought Gun Shot Victim to Hospital; Victim Has Died

From Calhoun Police: Two men drag a shooting victim into the hospital in Calhoun — a man who later died from his injuries.

One man is dead following a shooting that saw the victim left at AdventHealth Gordon hospital in Calhoun early Thursday morning. The victim later died and authorities are looking for the men who brought him there. Calhoun Police now believe the shooting took place in Dalton.

“We have since learned that the shooting occurred in Dalton Georgia and is currently being investigated by Dalton Police. We will continue to assist Dalton Police and telephone calls can still be directed to Detective Sutton or you can call the Dalton Police Department directly at (706) 278-9085.”

“Calhoun Police Detectives are requesting your help in identifying the two male subjects in these photographs. On Dec. 24 at approximately 02:45 a.m., officers responded to AdventHealth Gordon in reference to a black male subject with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. As a result of the gunshot wound, the victim is now deceased. The victim was brought to the hospital by the two men in the photos, who dragged him into the hospital and left him.
“The suspects were driving an unknown make and model, dark four door sedan, possibly a Ford. Detectives are also searching for the vehicle that the victim was last seen in, a 2019 gray Kia Rio, Georgia license plate #CNU 6001. The name of the deceased is known to detectives but is being withheld at this time pending family notification.
“Should anyone have any information involving this incident, the names of the suspects or the location of the vehicles, contact the lead detective in this case, Detective Kevin Sutton at (706) 263-4422. Any information received by Calhoun Police is held strictly confidential.”
