The Coosa Valley Chapter of Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for 2021 home ownership for residents of Chattooga, Floyd and Polk counties.

Habitat for Humanity is a non-denominational, Christian organization that believes all hard-working individuals and families should have access to the benefits and stability of home ownership. In this belief, Habitat is committed to partnering with local families who demonstrate a need for housing, the ability to pay, and a willingness to partner through fulfilling “sweat equity” hours.

Habitat is an international organization with deep roots in Georgia.  The organization started here and has received a lot of attention thanks to the efforts of a famous Georgia resident – former President Jimmy Carter.  President Carter, along with his wife Rosalynn have built houses with Habitat for over three decades.  In recent years, the Carters have been joined by Georgia native Trisha Yearwood and her husband Garth Brooks in Habitat builds.
