Robert Allen Anderson, 34 of Rome, was arrested this week after allegedly beating a woman so bad she was left without the ability to eat and swallow.

Reports stated that Anderson hit the woman in the face with a closed fist, which caused major bruising, bulges, and cuts outside and inside her mouth.

The victim also told police that Anderson then proceeded to grab her by the throat and squeezed with powerful force, which resulted in her inability to eat and swallow.

He proceeded to grab her and refused to allow her to leave the Mathis Drive home.

Anderson is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, battery, false imprisonment and parole violation.
