Cedar Bluff Man indicted On Charges of Attempted Sexual Abuse of a Child Under Age 12

A Cedar Bluff man has been indicted by a Cherokee County Grand Jury on charges of two counts of Attempted Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years of age, a Class B Felony.

According to court documents obtained by WEIS, 53 year old Timothy Culver was sentenced to a five year prison sentence, split to serve 18 months followed by five years probation in connection to the two cases. The sentences will run consecutive to one another.

The sentence was handed down in the Courtroom of Judge Andrew Hairston on Monday.

Culver was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center on Monday morning just after 11:30 a.m.

A Class B Felony carries a sentence of not less than two years and not more than life or ninety-nine years imprisonment in the state penitentiary and may include a fine not to exceed $60,000.

Court cost in the case has yet to be determined.
