A Sunday afternoon accident killed a forty-one-year-old Trion man. The accident happened between Little Caesar’s Pizza and Lake Wanda Reita Road. The Georgia State Patrol released the following report on Monday:
On August 2, 2020, at 2:07 p.m., Cpl. Doug Shamblin was dispatched to a traffic crash on U.S. 27 near Lake Wanda Rieta Road. The crash involved a BMW motorcycle and a Pontiac Montana van. The Pontiac’s driver attempted to turn south onto 27 1 from a parking lot. The motorcycle was traveling north on 27 in the right lane. The Pontiac entered the motorcycle’s path and was struck in the left side. The driver of motorcycle suffered fatal injuries. There were no other injuries. The investigation continues.
Killed was Kenneth Stephens, 41, of Trion.
The driver of the Pontiac was Elizabeth Tench, 31, of Menlo.
