A thirty-one-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a fatal motorcycle accident that happened on Highway 27 near Little Caesar’s Pizza earlier this month.
The Georgia State Patrol reported the crash involved a BMW motorcycle, driven by forty-one-year-old Kenneth Stephens of Trion and a Pontiac Montana van, driven by Elizabeth Ann Tench. Troopers say that Tench attempted to turn south onto Highway 27 from a parking lot. The motorcycle was traveling north on 27 in the right lane. Tench’s Pontiac entered the motorcycle’s path and was struck in the left side.
Stephens died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
Over the weekend, Tench was charged with failure to yield when entering the roadway and a misdemeanor charge of homicide by vehicle in the second degree.
