Huntsville Man Stopped In Summerville, Booked Into Jail

A Hunstville, Alabama man, driving a car with California tags, was stopped in Summerville and subsequently charged with a variety of drug charges.

A Summerville Police Officer stopped the 2015 Lexus on Rome Boulevard after the car was clocked doing 54 in a 35.  When the officer walked up to the window, he could smell what he believed to be the odor of burnt marijuana.  A passenger in the vehicle admitted to the officer that he and the driver had “smoked a roach” prior to the traffic stop.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led officers to finding a quantity of marijuana greater than one ounce, along with a firearm, identified as a Glock .357 caliber pistol.

Jahbie N. Frett was charged with firearm in the possession of a convicted felon; possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and marijuana distribution charges.

He was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
