Wilson Arrested for Aggravated Assault

A Mahan Road, Summerville man was arrested late last Saturday night after a violent, drunken altercation with family members at his residence.

When deputies arrived on the scene they found forty-seven-year-old Jerry Wilson along with the members of his family.  Family members told the responding deputies that Wilson had been drinking heavily and had struck one of them in the face.  Wilson is also alleged to have held a knife and threatened to stab a family member in the chest.  A video of the incident was handed over to sheriff’s investigators.  In the video, Wilson can be seen with a large knife in his hand and later with a handgun.

According to the report from the sheriff’s office, while Wilson was holding the handgun, he told a family member “You want to see if its got bullets in it?”

Wilson was taken into custody and transported to the Chattooga County Jail.  While at the jail, Wilson is said to have punched the glass window on the door in the intake area of the jail.

Wilson has been charged with aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act.
