Information About Burning Ban

The burning of trees, brush and stumps continues to be allowed by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) through May 31, 2020.

Outdoor open burning still requires a permit from the Georgia Forestry Commission. Permits for hand-piled, natural vegetation collected on site can be obtained online at or by calling 1-877-OK2-BURN.

Burning of vegetative debris should be conducted between 10:00 a.m. and one hour before dark.

The seasonal burn ban takes effect June 1st and runs through September 30th.
