Chattooga County Meal Procedure for Students to Resume, New Details

Chattooga County Meal Procedure

The Chattooga County School District will resume the distribution of free meals for our students next Tuesday, April 14, 2020 from 12 noon – 1 p.m. In order to reduce exposure for everyone involved, delivery will occur only once a week. However, each delivery will contain a full week of breakfasts and lunches. It is important to follow the food safety instructions included with the packaged meals. Many items will be frozen and must be stored in the freezer or refrigerator immediately.

Meals will be delivered to all bus routes in Chattooga County and will be given to anyone 18 years of age or under. If you do not normally ride a bus but would like to receive these meals, simply meet at the bus stop closest to your home.

The drive thru pick-up option will continue at each school from 10 a.m. – 12 noon once a week only and will also include a full week of meals. The distribution and pick-up schedule for the remainder of April is Tuesday, April 14, Tuesday, April 21, and Tuesday, April 28.

We anticipate continuing meal delivery through the end of May but due to the unpredictability of this pandemic, schedules are subject to change. We will keep you updated and hope that all students are continuing to practice safe social distancing.
