Illinois Man and Georgia Man Arrested in Separate Cases

Floyd County Police recently arrested an Illinois man and a Georgia man in separate cases on charges of criminal attempt to commit child molestation, obscene internet contact with a child and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

According to jail records 32-year old Jonathan Donald McMurray of Wheeling, Illinois made contact with someone he believed to be a minor under the age of 16 on the internet and engaged in a sexual conversation.  Afterwards he traveled to an agreed-upon location in Floyd County to meet the child.  Police say McMurray was also found to be in possession of two firearms.

Meanwhile, 55-year old Jeffrey Howard Cronin from Suwanee, Georgia engaged in a graphic on-line conversation with someone he thought was a minor and traveled to Floyd County to meet up; he was also found with a firearm.  Cronin was additionally charged with the use of a computer to entice a child.
