Woman Admits to Lying About Stolen Medication

Summerville Police arrested a woman who admitted to lying to officers about medication that she said was stolen from her bedroom.

Forty-four-year-old Beth Raylene Neighbors told police that someone had stolen the medicine from her nightstand drawer – she even gave the police the names of three suspects.  Police interviewd the suspects and eliminated all of them from the possibility of having committed the theft.

Neighbors finally admitted to police last Thursday morning that she was addicted to her medication and had been snorting the medicine to get quicker results.  She also admitted to police that she had smoked crack cocaine two days prior and had “smoked meth while on a boat” the day before her arrest.

Neighbors was booked into the Chattooga County Jail on the charge of giving a false statement to law enforcement.
