Chattooga Man Jailed In Floyd County On Charges

A thirty-two-year-old Chattooga County man is jailed in Floyd County on forgery and theft charges.

Jeffery Brett Jackson of Summerville was arrested last week by Floyd County authorities after they say he stole a money bag from a convenience store on the Alabama Highway.  That theft reportedly happened in February of last year.  Police say that Jackson took the bag containing $3,170.

Also, authorities say that Jackson forged someone else’s name on a $500 check and then attempted to cash it at a convenience store on Smith Road in Floyd County.

Jacskon has been charged with fourth-degree forgery, criminal attempt to commit a crime and felony theft by taking.
