New Head Coach for CHS is Named

Chattooga High School has named a new head football coach, Shawn Peek.  Mr. Peek is coming to Chattooga High School from South Pittsburgh, Tennessee where he has worked on the staff of the football program as the defense coordinator.

Chattooga County School Superintendent Jared Hosmer made the announcement about Mr. Peek on Wednesday afternoon.  Hosmer said Peek has thirty years of coaching experience, with sixteen of those years as head coach.  Peek has been part of twelve region championships, seventeen playoffs, six semi-finals and ten quarter-finals in the past twenty years.  He has served as defensive coordinator and strength and conditioning coach at South Pittsburgh.

Peek is a graduate of Jacksonville State University and started his career at North Sand Mountain High School in Jackson County, Alabama.  He then spent twelve years at North Jackson High School and two years at Pisgah High School along with one year at Scottsboro in Alabama.  He also spent one year at Dade High School in Georgia.

A press conference with Coach Shawn Peek is scheduled for 8 AM on Friday morning at the Chattooga High School cafeteria.
