Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters says that the county’s budget will be increasing next year. The proposed budget is $14,773,274, representing increases in courthouse building repairs of $125,359 which will come from sales tax. Other increases include:
Registrars Office – $4,580 – from general fund
Juvenile Court – $19, 211 – from general fund
Probate Court – $51,534 – from general fund
District Attorney – $16,994 – from general fund
Sheriff’s Department – $288,704 – from general fund
Jail – $248,667 – from general fund
E-911- $39,661 – from general fund
Roads & Bridges – $235,090 – from sales tax fund
Water Department – $100,000 – from sales tax fund
Ag Center – $50,000 – from sales tax fund
Commissioner Winters will adopt the budget at a meeting that will be held this Friday, December 20, 2019 at 11 AM at his office on Commerce Street.
