Johns Mountain Overlook Road is closed indefinitely from vandalism, the U.S. Forest Service announced on Saturday.
The U.S. Forest Service is asking people to find alternative destinations to view the Fall foliage until repairs can be made.
“When senseless damage like this vandalism and destruction of public facilities occurs, it takes away from our capacity to make progress addressing other critical maintenance needs,” U.S. Forest Service wrote in the Facebook post.
Officials say maintaining boat ramps, campgrounds, trails, and the roads to access them is challenging. They are asking you to help keep public lands clean and healthy.
