Suspects In Armed Robbery in LaFayette Are Now In Custody

LaFayette Police say that all four suspects in an armed robbery last week are now in custody.

LaFayette Police have identified the robbers as Mathew Avery Asbeury, 19; Kameron Gage Shropshire, 17; Quintavious Knox, 17; and Larell Dashon Hampton, 18. Charges in the warrants include armed robbery, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, battery, and criminal trespassing.

LaFayette Police say that a couple were arguing in their car when the four suspects approached them, one of them with a gun.  The male victim told police that the youth with the gun demanded his wallet, and when he first refused, all four began beating him, striking him repeatedly until he finally handed over his wallet.  They teens then attempted to take the keys to the vehicle.  The female victim said that during the altercation, one of the teens held the gun to her head and said “I’ll empty the clip on you.”

As the teens left the scene, they reportedly hit the passenger-side window and shattered the glass.

The couple called Walker 911 as soon as the teens had left.
