Police in Floyd County have arrested the man that they believe robbed the Synovus Bank on Shorter Avenue on Tuesday of last week.
Forty-four-year-old Michael Brennon Hyde was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Saturday and charged with armed robbery. While Hyde has been charged with armed robbery, Rome Police say that no one saw a weapon during the commission of the crime. Synovus Bank officials also had previously said that there was no visible weapon during the robbery.
The robbery happened around 3 PM last Tuesday when police say Hyde walked into the bank and demanded money. He reportedly got away with about $1,000 in cash.
Hyde left the bank on foot. Police issued a plea to the public to help locate Hyde along with pictures and a video from the bank surveillance cameras.
Hyde is being held in the Floyd County Jail.
