Convicted Sex Offender Arrested on Charges of Parole Violation

A convicted sex offender was arrested last week on charges he violated his probation.

Sixty-year-old Joseph Wade, Jr. was arrested in Chattooga County on Friday afternoon.  Wade was convicted of statutory rape, child molestation and enticing a minor back in 2001.  Wade pleaded guilty at the time of the original charges.  However, in 2015 Wade attempted to change his guilty plea, according to Georgia Court of Appeals records.  His attempt to change his plea was denied.

Wade’s profile on the Georgia Sex Offender Registry shows him to be currently living at 3189 Martha Berry Blvd. in Rome and his residence was last verified on August 5, 2019.
