During a police pursuit in Euclid that resulted in the murder of an innocent bystander, a grand jury in Cuyahoga County has indicted a young man from Cleveland who is 18 years old.
He was 17 years old at the time, Tyron Griffin.
In addition to receiving stolen property and improperly handling guns while operating a motor vehicle, Griffin was charged with murder, aggravated vehicular homicide, felonious assault, refusal to comply with the command or signal of a police officer, vehicular assault, and receiving stolen property.
The FLOCK camera system of the city of Euclid warned authorities on March 17 that a stolen Jeep was in the vicinity of North Lakeland Boulevard and East 222nd Street, as stated by Captain Mitch Houser of the Euclid Heights Police Department.

At approximately three o’clock in the afternoon, a law enforcement officer arrived at the location and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. However, the driver refused to stop and escaped, as stated by Captain Houser.
At the crossing of E. 156th Street and Calcutta Avenue in Cleveland, three minutes later, it is alleged that Griffin was involved in a collision with a vehicle driven by Michelle Wall, who was 44 years old.
It was determined that Wall had passed away at the scene.
However, according to Captain Houser, Griffin and another suspect were apprehended in a backyard close by, and stated that they had fled the scene. In addition, Captain Houser stated that a firearm was discovered inside the Jeep, which had been reported stolen in Cleveland at approximately two in the morning on March 15th. The incident occurred during a carjacking of two women in the vicinity of East 26th Street and Superior Avenue. The women sustained no injury.
Griffin is currently free on a bond of $250,000, as stated in the court documents, and his arraignment is slated to take place on August 2 in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas facility.
