An 18-year-old Georgia man has been in jail for two months, reportedly after his father and sister informed authorities of an alleged sexual assault on a donkey and a bestiality charge against the household dog, a Great Dane.

Others in the Monroe County jail learned about the case. Jason Weir was charged with new misdemeanor violence after chasing another inmate into a detention cell and hitting him for making donkey sounds.

As of Friday, Monroe County Jail records reviewed by Law&Crime show that Weir has been in custody for 61 days, since his May 27 arrest, but there are two separate warrants listed — one for felony animal sexual abuse and the other for a misdemeanor battery offense that appears to be related to the reported jailhouse outburst.

So far, the story is that an inmate who was aware of the specifics of the case against Weir began making donkey sounds, which enraged the defendant to the point where he allegedly followed the inmate into a jail cell, attacked him by hitting him in the eye and ear, and then blamed the outburst on the mocking sounds.

According to the complaint, the inmate did not fight back when the irate bestiality suspect allegedly escalated the verbal altercation into a criminal battery offense.

When Weir was arrested in May, his family members said that he was caught with his pants down in the yard outside their home, attempting to have sex with their male Great Dane, Freedom, according to the Montgomery County Reporter.

According to Lawandcrime “He’s 18 and should know better,” Weir’s family reportedly stated about the incident.

Family members, including the defendant’s sister, allegedly became concerned when Weir took the Great Dane for a walk but did not return to the house straight away. Weir, for his part, allegedly attempted to explain why his pants were down by blaming the dog for pushing him over while the defendant went to the bathroom.

Bestiality is a felony in Georgia, punishable by at least one year and up to five years in prison if convicted.
